Join us for a tour at The Nest, our magical backyard garden in Shoreline, to meet our director and discover for yourself why children and families love The Nature School!

RELATIONSHIPS OF RESPECT

Our curriculum is rooted in a deep respect for children and their families. We believe that children are capable learners with a natural desire to form meaningful connections with nature and community. We know that a loving relationship with the earth and enriching experiences with others empowers families to take better care of the earth, each other, and all of life.

NATURE LEADS THE WAY

Through playful, meaningful and direct contact with the earth, children and families at The Nature School strengthen their own gifts and creativity, their inherent membership in the interconnected communities of the earth, and the power they hold to steward and shape a world of kindness and justice.

HANDS-ON PLAY

With thoughtfully crafted invitations that emerge from the cycle of the seasons along with the children’s questions, ideas, strengths and challenges, children and families at The Nature School engage in a curriculum that follows their curiosity, integrates all their senses, promotes mindfulness, and encourages cooperation. Parents and caregivers are supported to slow down, touch into the natural world, and experience their own growth as well as their children’s development through the cycle of the seasons.

SUPPORTIVE SOCIAL LEARNING

We expertly weave play, creative expression, deep nature connection and community engagement, to strengthen children’s and families’ sense of belonging, partnership, and responsibility to our human and more-than-human world.
