In our unique island forest setting, Whidbey Island Waldorf School educates students through academic excellence, toward a lifelong love of learning, with the head to think for themselves, the heart to serve others and the courage to take action for the common good as citizens of the world. Waldorf schools are based upon a deeply developmental philosophy and understanding of the nature of children and how they naturally grow and learn. Waldorf schools seek to educate the whole child, integrating rigorous academics with emotional, social and spiritual growth and physical skills. We place a strong focus on social health and inclusion. Waldorf education is a social education. There is so much more!

The Outdoor Kindergarten offers a nurturing environment in which the young child enters into imaginative and dynamic play. Children experience a typical Waldorf kindergarten day in an outdoor setting. Our Grade School, Grades 1-8, runs 5 days a week, from 8:10am - 2:45pm.
