The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival, Fri 4-10, Sat 10-10. St. Benedict School. Bouncy slides, bake sale, live entertainment and old-fashioned carnival games, plus the best wurst, of course. Free admission, bring $ for food/tickets. stbens.net

 

One Hot Night: Pratt Open House, Sat 6-9 pm. FREE. Have a hankering to forge steel? Come find out how it's done along w/glass blowing, print pulling and stone carving. Artists on hand for demos and questions, plus a performance by SANCA. pratt.org

 

Talk Like a Pirate, Seattle Children's Museum, Sat 10-5 pm. Aargh mateys, get ye down to the ol' Seattle Center for some pirate crafts, games and lingo. Shiver me timbers, even the Southworth Buccaneers will be on hand. Pirate garb gets you one free museum child entrance per family. $8.25, $7.25 grandparents, free younger than 12 months. thechildrensmuseum.org

 

Luminata Lantern Parade, Sat 7 pm. South Shore of Green Lake Park. FREE. Join a parade at the park to celebrate our autumnal equinox and enjoy the lights, costumes, amazing lanterns and music. fremontartscouncil.org

 

Whidbey Island Kite Festival, Sat/Sun 9-5. Camp Casey Conference Center. FREE. Let's go fly a kite… and watch daring flying displays, take a sportkite lesson, try your hand at kids' kite making and take part in the kids teddy bear drop. whidbeykites.org

 

Bicycle Sundays, 10-6. Lake Washington Blvd. FREE. It's the final weekend of Bicycle Sundays where four miles of Lake Washington Boulevard between Mount Baker Beach and Seward Park are closed to motorized traffic for the day. So get out there and scoot, bike, run or walk the length and enjoy our summer sunshine before we head to fall.
