Erika's Weekend Picks: Seafair Pirates land, a big day of play and more

Seafair Pirates Landing, Alki Beach, Sat 9-3. Free. Shiver me timbers, don't miss the official start to Seafair by welcoming our local pirates to town. Don your best pirate attire and enjoy the vendors, music, food, sun and sand while you wait for the buccaneers. seafairpirates.com

Edible Garden Tour, West Woodland Elementary School, Sat 10-3. Take a walking tour of nearby homes with edible gardens and then stay for art and gardening activities. $10, free for kids. sustainableballard.org

Maker Day, Sat 11-2. MOHAI. Learn to screenprint from local experts and then transfer images from stencil to paper. Included with admission. $17, $15 seniors, $14 students, teachers and military, free ages 14 and younger. mohai.org

Midsomer Festival, Sat/Sun 12-5. Camlann Medieval Village. A day of puppets, magic shows, games, archery and crafts staged in a medieval village. $10, $6 seniors and ages 6-12, free ages 5 and younger. $45 festival plus banquet (reservations required). camlann.org

Native American Games, Sat 2-3:30. Lake Hills Greenbelt Ranger Station. Bellevue. Free. Dress to go outside and run around. Eastside Heritage Center volunteer Barb Williams, teaches games originally developed by local Native Americans. Great for ages 8 and older. Pre-register for course 94335. myparksandrecreation.com

Big Day of Play and Free Helmet Fitting, Sun 12-4. Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center. Free. Games, entertainment, healthy food and water activities for all ages. Free helmets available for kids 1-18. Must be present to be fitted. seattle.gov
