Erika's Weekend Picks: See Alice in Wonderland, bowl in pajamas and more

What's on for Seattle-area families this weekend.

 

Erika Lee Bigelow lives in Seattle with her husband, three kids, one dog and nine fish. On Fridays you can find her on Q13 at 9:15 a.m. with a hand-picked list of family-friendly activities for the weekend. Here's what's on this weekend:

 

Paws-On Science: Husky Weekend, Fri-Sun. 10-6. Pacific Science Center. Harry the Husky will be there learning fun facts and you should be too. Don't miss UW scientists and researchers as they demonstrate and display their work. Interactive exhibits, activities plus the UW marching band. Sleep Country Pajama Bowl, Sun 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. A fun fundraiser to support NW foster kids. Literally, roll out of bed (don't change out of those pjs) to bowl at Acme Bowl in Tukwila or Tech City Bowl in Kirkland. Park in the Dark Night Hike, Sat 7:30-9, Washington Park Arboretum. Graham Visitors Center. Explore your senses as you learn about night-related animal adaptations, then try and locate nocturnal movements in the forest. Great for kids ages 5-12 and their adult. $8. Alice in Wonderland, Stone Soup Theatre. Sun 4 p.m. Lewis Carroll's popular tale is 150 years old! Come see Stone Soup Theatre bring this classic to life on stage, with a twist. The show runs Thurs-Sundays thru May 3. $15-25. stonesouptheatre.org

 

Spring Break, Seattle Public Library. There are amazing free opportunities at the library all this week for Seattle Public Schools Spring Break. Come check out Puzzle Festival at the Columbia Branch on Monday, Lego Mania at Delridge on Tuesday, Little Mermaid Sing-Along at Southwest on Wednesday, Dance for Fun at Greenwood on Thursday or Worm Fun at Central on Friday. There are many more activities at all their locations all week long, so just check them out on the website. spl.org

 

Figments Circus Show, Broadway Performance Hall, Fri-Sun 3:30-5. Seattle-based Circus group IMPulse Circus Collective is launching a new show as part of the Moisture Festival. Be transported into a world full of the imaginary friends of children who forgot about them when they grew up.
