Youth Skate Competition, Fri 12-5. Paramount Skate Park, Shoreline. FREE. Teens and tweens, BYO boards, compete for prizes and stay for a BBQ. shorelinewa.gov

 

Summer Splash, Sat 9-4. Green Lake Park near small craft center. FREE. Haven't hit the water this summer? Here's your chance. Try out kayaking, canoeing, rowing and stand-up paddle boarding, then watch local businesses compete in a regatta to raise money to support low-income youth boating programs. 

 

Color Me Rad 5K, Sat 9 am. Lake Sammamish State Park. Run, walk and skip your way to becoming a veritable rainbow. Color stations along the route will you keep you covered in non-toxic (gluten-free) powder. $60. $15 kids' packs. colormerad.com

 

Free Play at the Living Computer Museum, Sat 10-5. Free. A day to celebrate vintage computers and computing and it's all on free play! Enjoy games, family-friendly activities, pinball, crafts and much more. livingcomputermuseum.org

 

Geocaching Block Party, Sat 11-5. Fremont's Solstice Plaza. FREE. This popular world-wide hobby is dissected and explained with interactive booths, displays and activities. geocachingblockparty.com

 

Frogs & Dogs, Sat 11-7. Rogue Issaquah Brewhouse. FREE. A family-friendly (including the canines) festival with leapfrog, a parade for dogs, a dog agility course and dog washing stations too. Proceeds benefit the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery.
