Description
The FREE Public Sail has returned to the Center for Wooden Boats (CWB) on the last Sunday of each month from April to October.
A Seattle tradition for more than 25 years, the CWB volunteer skippers and crew take passengers out on Lake Union for a free unforgettable sailing experience. Sprit boats, steamboats, electric boats, schooners, ketches, yawls, and yachts are among the several boat types that may be available to ride.
Center for Wooden Boats will hold one Public Sail per month from 10 am-4 pm, sign up in front of the Wager Education Center! This is a first-come first-served program. Reservations are NOT available for the free public sail except on-site, day-of, in-person. The ride takes about an hour. They sail rain or shine, but high winds may cancel the trip.
Boats generally depart between 10:30am and 3:00pm. When signing up for your ride, you will be provided with an expected departure time for your ride. Depending on wind and weather boat rides may depart later than anticipated but they will never depart early unless all passengers are accounted for and ready to go. Plan for a 1-hour long boat ride.
