St Demetrios Greek Festival
Location
Saint Demetrios Greek Church
2100 Boyer Ave E
Seattle, WA 98112
Description
The Saint Demetrios Greek Festival has been a Seattle tradition since 1960 bringing Greek food, music, dancing and culture to Seattle’s Montlake neighborhood. Highlights include homemade Greek delicacies, from spanakopita to Souvlakia, loukoumathes to baklava, all freshly prepared and served under the large outdoor tent. There will also be Greek music and dancing from St. Demetrios’ award-winning Greek dance groups who perform all weekend.
This year’s menu of traditional Greek food will focus on the favorites, including but not limited to gyros, souvlaki, lamb, roasted chicken, spanakopita and more. Additionally, there will be a selection of homemade Greek sweets and pastries prepared by members of St. Demetrios.
Greek wine tasting will be available, and Greek beer and wine will also be served in our Taverna bar, which will feature big screen TVs showing all the weekend’s major sporting events.
Families can head to the children’s area, which will have activities and games ideal for the younger guests. Visitors can also take tours of the church if they wish to view St. Demetrios’ beautiful sanctuary, including two new, large mosaics, and learn more about the Orthodox faith.
