Turkey Trot Fun Runs
Location
Magnuson Park, Woodinville, Issaquah, Montlake
Description
There are Turkey Trots fun runs happening the morning of Thanksgiving all over the Seattle area today with these three runs especially about the kids having fun: Magnuson Park in Seattle, Woodinville, and Issaquah. All allow day-of registration but you'll need to get there early.
The Issaquah Turkey Trot is a 5K (about 3 miles, and most people walk). There are seven Gobble Wobble stations along the route. Kids get their Gobble Wobble pass validated at each station and get a fun prize at the end. Strollers and leashed dogs are allowed.
The Woodinville 5K fun begins with a Kids Parade led by the Woodinville High School Marching Band. At the Kids Dash, the kids six and under will run a short course of about 200 yards on the trail and finish under the start/finish arch. Costumes are encouraged! There will also be a chip-timed 5K. Strollers are allowed but must start at the back of the race. No dogs allowed.
At the Magnuson Turkey Trot, runners, waddlers, and trotters are encouraged to participate. There will be a Kids 400M Dash, a 5k, 10k, and 15k run/walk. After you cross the finish line you can treat yourself to the hot chocolate bar. This race is chip timed, USATF Certified and prizes for top finishers. Costumes encouraged. Leashed dogs are allowed but must start at the back of the race. Strollers are allowed.
The 8th Annual Montlake Community Club 5K Turkey Trot and Kids Run benefits the University District Food Bank. Come out to run, jog, or walk at your own pace. The race course takes you through the fantastic Washington Park Arboretum. There are no dogs allowed. Strollers are welcome, but race organizers ask that you start with strollers in the back of the race corral so runners who are participating for a competitive time don't risk injury trying to get past the moving wheels. And note that the trails within the arboretum can be muddy and have damp plant debris on them, so if you plan to use a stroller, please use one that can easily used over various path surfaces.
