Explore gender at Kirkland Arts Center

What happens if your true gender differs from your external body? And what does it mean to be male or female?

These are the questions at the heart of "Gender Personal," a multimedia exhibit using art, poetry, interviews and photography to explore gender and gender variance. The project was developed by Seattle painter Jacqui Beck after her son came out as transgender in 2011 at the age of 18.

The exhibit will be on display at the Kirkland Arts Center May 24 through July 12, and at the Gender Odyssey conference at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle Aug. 14 through 17. Learn more at www.genderpersonal.org.
