Help Build Auburn’s Newest Playground

The City of Auburn and The Auburn Food Bank are teaming up with KaBOOM! and Delta Air Lines on Saturday, Oct. 19 to build a new playground at Auburn's Brannan Park.

They need volunteer help for this exciting project. Volunteers do not have to be trained, skilled or have any special tools; they just need to be enthusiastic, energetic and willing to work while having fun. You can register on-line via the City's website for this opportunity.

Thirty volunteers are needed on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help get the site ready for "Build Day." Seventy-five volunteers are needed on Saturday to help with playground construction from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older; however, on Build Day (Oct. 19) there will also be a handful of projects where teens can participate and activities for all kids younger than 15.

Volunteers will need to bring a volunteer waiver, sturdy shoes, work clothes and dress appropriately for the weather. All volunteers will be provided with a shirt; breakfast, lunch and plenty of water; instruction sheets for all building projects; and any other project materials that are needed.

All volunteers must be pre-registered. If you have questions, please call 253-804-5042 or email jbrewer@auburnwa.gov. For more information, visit www.auburnwa.gov/events.
