Nothing beats a good book store – especially on Independent Bookstore Day. Pop on over to the University Book Store in Seattle’s U District starting at 10 a.m. for story times, live music, a prize wheel, crafts, treats and more. If your kid bears a striking resemblance to, say, Pippi Longstocking or Stephen King, have them come in costume for the kids’ author/character look-alike parade at 3:30 p.m.
Performance art meets party time at Recipe for Love II, happening at Redmond City Hall at 3 p.m. It’s put on by Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders, commissioned by the City of Redmond. Dress in pink, be ready to dance, and bring a cake to share (along with the plates and utensils you’ll need).
