Because of the weather, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium delayed by a week its annual Love at the Zoo event. It will be held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20-21.
Animals will receive special enrichments such as heart-shaped ice blocks, and visitors can hunt for 12 giant hearts hidden around the zoo, with fun facts and lovable stories about 12 different animals.
And if you’ve still got some Valentine’s craft supplies around, make a Valentine for your favorite animal and drop it in a special box at the zoo entrance. (Remember, don’t bring treats for the animals.)
Safety protocols require the advance online purchase of timed tickets, face coverings on anyone 5 and older, and adherence to one-way walking paths. The aquariums and carousel are not open.
