Don’t forget to loosen that belt buckle a notch or two before bringing your big appetite and kids to Mae James Coffee’s monthly CoffeeWaffleShop in South Park. The brunch pop-up takes place on most first Saturdays of the month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burdick Brewery. Mae James and Burdick owner Jessie Blount welcomes families at the carb-heavy event, where kids can stuff their faces with waffles topped with Nutella, bananas and homemade marshmallows. Syrup made with the craft brewery’s stout — and ice cream scoops of butter — were served atop waffles at February’s event.
