Recess Monkey singer Drew Holloway makes friends with a dapper little Magellanic penguin in the band's video for their new single “Penguinese,” premiering today on Seattle’s Child — just in time for World Penguin Day on April 25.

The Seattle-based kindie rock trio of teacher-musicians with a national following have performed at World Cafe Life in Philadelphia, The Getty Museum in Los Angeles and with the Seattle Symphony. Their new bird-centric video was created and produced by band leader Jack Forman and is pure fun to watch; listen closer and you’ll pick up on messages of acceptance for the “new kid in school.”

"Penguinese" appears on Recess Monkey’s upcoming June 16 album and video collection “Hot Air,” produced by John Vanderslice. Like what you hear? The single is up for grabs over on iTunes. Now round up your kids and watch:
