Seattle-area camps

Blue Ribbon Cooking, Eastlake

Blue Ribbon Cooking, located in Seattle, offers world-class culinary camps for beginner to advanced students. Kids are invited to join in the kitchen for an opportunity to learn new recipes and culinary techniques. Each lesson will teach kitchen safety and proper techniques while also inviting creativity and exploration of ingredients.

Kids Science Labs, Green LakeĀ 

At this mid winter break camp, students will learn even though they’re not in school, perfect for science enthusiasts. Innovative projects and fun, hands-on experiments will also show them how fun learning can be. This midwinter break theme is “Inside the Olympics: How Stuff Works”, where campers will explore the limits of the human body and how to keep them at peak performance for competition, learn about basic science of levers and forces in the spors equipment and so much more.

Kids Carpentry, Seattle (waitlist)

Kids’ Carpentry is a hands on toy building experience designed to teach kids practical woodworking skills with an emphasis on the safe use of hand tools.Ā While kids construct fun and exciting projects they are also empowered to become independent thinkers during this camp.

Kong Academy, Phinneywood

Ninja Parkour Training Camp will involve movement with social emotional learning for kids. They will learn to navigate obstacle courses that are designed to test speed, agility, and precision at this half day camp.

Neo Art School, Fremont

The art school offers day-to-day camps during the midwinter break. Every camp is different, with new projects to keep the kid’s excitement levels high.

Seattle Bouldering Project, Seattle

During this camp, kids can stay warm and active climbing. Join for obstacle courses, climbing instruction, team challenges, and more in the single-day camps. Feel free to choose one or more days of camp.

SANCA Circus Camp, South Seattle

The School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts has camps to teach your kids the finer points of tumbling, aerial arts, juggling, trapeze, and more. This camp welcomes beginners and individuals with no experience. However, the Circus Menagerie Camp requires at least one session of classes at SANCA or previous camp participation at SANCA.

Seattle Children’s Theatre, Seattle

Each day students discover new ways to use voices, bodies, and imaginations to create and tell a story. This creative drama camp is a great starting point for students who are curious about theatre.

Stone Soup Theatre, Seattle

Children with the passion to act and perform can channel their inner thespian at this theatre camp. During the camp, older kids ages 8 to 15 can undertake a production of “Dungeons & Drama”, while younger kids ages 5 to 7 can have fun singing and dancing to the lively stage adaptation of the Disney Classic “The Lion King”.

Taproot Theatre Acting Studio, Seattle

Taproot Theatre will offer acting studio midwinter break camps for kids & teens. Camp ends with a final performance on the last day. Classes are taught by Taproots’ experienced teaching artists and theatre professionals. They offer two camp options including: Drama Quest: A Jungle Tale Based on Grumpy Monkey for students K-3rd grade with a final performance at 1:30 p.m. The other option is the Youth & Teen Showcase: The Play’s the Thing – Hamlet Spoofs for students in 4th grade to 12th grade, with a final performance at 3 p.m.

Tilth Alliance, Rainier Beach & Wallingford

Tilth Alliance is offering two mid-winter break camps this year: ā€œDumplings ā€˜Round the Worldā€ (full-day) at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands and ā€œWinter Garden Snacksā€ (half-day) located at the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford. In these multi-day camps, kids will learn to cook from seasonal produce, work in the garden and explore the outdoors while learning stewardship of the garden.

West Seattle Art Nest, West Seattle

During this 3-day mid-winter break camp, children will get the opportunity to explore a large variety of mediums and techniques. This camp will focus on working outdoors, inside heated canopy tents, so they recommend that kids dress in art-friendly clothing and bundle up.

Eastside camps

Arena Sports, Issaquah

Burn off all that extra home-from-school energy by keeping them active all day at one of the Arena Sports ā€œSchool’s Outā€ camps. These are very flexible, with half-day and full-day options, or your child can drop in for a single day. (Ages 3 to 5 only have morning options.)

Chess 4 Life, Bellevue & Issaquah

There are various options at this camp for students to choose from. They have day chess camps, including regular camp, Lego + chess camp, and table tennis + chess camp. Beginners, intermediate and advanced players are welcome and can learn and improve.

Edgeworks Climbing Camp (Feb 17, 19, 20 are full), Bellevue

Edgeworks Climbing offers a single-day camp for midwinter break for beginner, intermediate, and advanced climbers of all ages. Activities include climbing ropes and bouldering, safety instructions, knot-tying, basic technique, games, and fitness.

FeatherFlight Badminton, Bellevue

Join this new Badminton Club and Training Academy for mid-winter break camp, where kids can learn to play badminton.

FrogLegs, Redmond

During this mid-winter break camp, kids can cook and bake and learn about foods from all around the world. The camp offers two options:

Travel Series: is a half-day camp that explores a different country each day, learning about its cuisine and history while cooking.Ā 4-9 years.

Baking Around the World: a two-hour drop-in camp where kids will learn to take core ingredients like flour, butter, salt, vanilla, and more and create unique flavors and textures of baked goods from around the world.Ā Lunch is provided. Ages: 5-9 years

Redmond Art Works, Redmond

Join Redmond Art Works for four hours of themed art projects, including drawing, painting, crafts and working with clay. Fill your child’s day with artmaking through the mid-winter break. You can register for individual days and choose different classes.

Sit and Kit Camp, Bellevue

Kids in the Bellevue area can learn about famous artists and get creative and messy in this full day camp. Dress them in clothes that are okay to get dirty/messy.

Steve and Kate’s Camp, Bellevue

Campers choose which activities they do, whether its coding, crafting, sewing/stitching, performing, or doing sports and recreation, there is something for everyone at this camp.

Dates: February 17-21, 2025 | Time: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. | Location: Forest Ridge School of Sacred Heart |Ā  Ages/Grades: Ages 4-12 | Cost: $124 per day

Stroum Jewish Community Center, Mercer Island

J Camp offers special camp experiences for when there is no school. During the break, your kids can choose between Core Camp (mixed activities) or Sports Camp. They will have activities, games, crafts and swimming too.

Dates: February 17-21, 2025 | Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. | Location: 3801 E Mercer Way, Mercer Island | Ages/grades: K-5 | Cost: $81-$100 per day (varies by membership)

Youth Theatre Northwest, Mercer Island

Kids will spend their mid-winter break with jam-packed, fun-filled theatrics including singing, dancing and acting with theatre’s red-head: Annie. On the last day at 3 p.m., there will be an end of camp short performance by the campers.

North of Seattle camps

Cedar Springs Camp, Lake Stevens

This is a day camp where your kids can enjoy a week of camp activities such as laser tag, rock wall climbing, nature hikes, and campfires. Camp will take place at Lake Stevens, with hot lunch provided. On the 13th and 14th, bus transportation will be offered for $9 per day.

Dates: February 13-21, 2025 | Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Location: Lake Stevens, WA | Ages/grades: ages 5-12 | Cost: $59 per day for each camper, $49 per day for 2 days and $39 per day for 3 days

Creative Hands Studio, Bothell

Students will work on various projects and in different mediums each day. Every day and every week, there will be different projects, with time to play. Kids can choose between a pottery-based camp or an art-based camp.

This midwinter break camp will have a few options for Lego lovers in Shoreline including, a Minecraft Engineering LEGO Camp (ages 5-8) and a Bash’em Bots LEGO Camp (ages 7-12). Note: Minecraft Engineering Camp is FULL

South of Seattle camps

City of Auburn Camp, Auburn

Join the City of Auburn mid-winter break camp for engaging projects centered around crafts, sports, games, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. The campers will also enjoy a special one-time outing to the bowling alley. Early drop-off is available at 8 a.m., and late pick-up is until 5 p.m.

Sing Out Seattle Musical Theatre, South SeattleĀ 

Sing Out offers a mid-winter break camp where your kids will perform songs and scenes from five Broadway musicals. On the last day of the camp, the students will have a final camp performance. An extended day is not available.
