Parades, fair food, rides, animals, entertainment, and more!

Summer 2026 is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy fair foods, community festivals, and all the entertainment (musical, theatrical, demos, and more) that go along with these special outings. The entire family will have an amazing and memorable time. Here is a list of family-friendly festivals and fairs that feature kid parades, art, cultural celebrations, delicious foods, live dance and music performances, kid activities, and much more.

May 2026

Seattle

Northwest Folklife Festival | May 22-25 | Hours vary | Seattle Center | Free | This family-friendly festival, a vibrant tapestry of music, dance, arts, food, traditions, and heritage. This year’s theme Ubuntu. Ubuntu is about belonging. That we belong to each other because our personhood is connected to the personhood of someone else. Free, donations accepted.

Honk Fest | May 29-31| Hours vary | Georgetown, Columbia Park, Pratt Park | Free | All ages | Three-day festival featuring bands that draw inspiration from NOLA second line tradition, Brazilian Samba, Punk, Funk, and more.

Bite of Greece | May 30-June 1 | Hours vary | Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption | Free | All ages | 3-day festival featuring traditional street-style lunch and dinner, handmade Greek pastries, crafts and imported deli items for sale in the marketplace.

Beacon Arts Street Fair | June 13 – September 12 | 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Second Saturdays | Roberto Maestas Festival St |  Free | Join the Beacon Arts Street Fair every Second Saturday of each month through September. It features a pop-up market, family fun, garden workshops, live music, and more.

Fremont Fair | June 20-21 | Hours vary | Fremont Ave N, Seattle | Free | Kick off summer at the Fremont Fair with 2 stages of live music, 300+ craft vendors, beer gardens, art cars, and parades. The fair will have special activities for kids and families.

North of Seattle

Baby Animals & Berries Festival | June 6-28 | 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Saturdays & Sundays | Swans Trail Farms | $12.95-$25.95 | Tickets here | Get a personal experience with the baby goats, lambs, calves, chicks, ducklings, rabbits, and more. Kent Nerd Festival | Saturday, June 6 | 12-7 p.m. | Page Turner Book, Downtown Kent | Free | Get ready for the Kent Nerd Party, where downtown Kent transforms into the ultimate haven for nerds! A street-wide event with a cosplay contest, Lego museum, LARP games, outdoor vendors, and more.

Meeker Days Art & Music Festival | June 12-14| Hours vary | Downtown Puyallup | Free | All ages | Features live music, food vendors, a classic car show, variety entertainment, inflatable play places, beer gardens, family activities, and more!

Slimy Slug Fest | June 27-28 | 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Northwest Trek Wildlife Park | $20+ | Tickets | The event will include the popular human slug races, tentacle headbands, crafts, and slug trivia while enjoying the wildlife park.

West Seattle

Seafair Pirates Landing | Saturday, June 27 | 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. | Alki Beach Bathhouse | Free | All ages | The pirates will be landing around 1 to 1:30 p.m. with festivities beforehand. Pre-Landing Activities: Enjoy family-friendly entertainment, including storytelling with the Seattle Public Library near the Log House Museum starting at 11:00 a.m.,  kids’ inflatable rides,  and a pirate look-a-like contest on the beach.

Wallingford Kiddie Parade | Saturday, July 11 | 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Free | Meridian Playfield, Seattle | Everyone is welcome to join in the Wallingford Kiddie Parade fun. Everyone participating must submit a “hold harmless” form. This is a Kiddie Parade, designed to bring amusement to kids of all ages! (Dogs are ok, too).

West Seattle Grand Parade | Saturday, July 18 | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 4556 California Ave SW, Seattle | Free | This parade has occurred annually since 1935, and is one of the oldest and most beloved community events in the Seattle area. Includes pirates, clowns, marching bands, drill teams, floats, pageantry, community organizations, and the fun of summer!

Chinatown Seafair Parade |Sunday, July 19 | 7 p.m. | Chinatown International District | Free | The Seattle Chinatown Seafair Parade is a vibrant celebration of culture, featuring rich ethnic traditions, a spectacular 100-foot dragon, and the Chinese Community Girls Drill Team dressed in elegant Chinese opera costumes.

Bite of Seattle | July 24-26 | Hours vary | Seattle Center | Free, items to purchase | All ages | This food festival features over 300+ local vendors, beer and wine gardens, cider tastings, local artisans, and over 65+ musical performers.

Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival | July 25-26 | Hours vary | Volunteer Park | Free | SOTF brings together multiple theatre companies in one park to present a full weekend of live, free theatre. There will be Shakespeare performances, play readings, and a youth Shakespeare workshop.

Seafair Torchlight Parade  | Saturday, July 25 | 7:30 p.m. | Seattle Waterfront | Free | There will be dragon dancers, precision drill teams or marching bands to prancing horses, local favorite sports teams, military bands, and the legendary Seafair Pirates.

Pista sa Nayon Festival | Sunday, July 26 | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Seward Park, Seattle | Free | All ages | This family-friendly event will feature performers, food, vendor booths, music, and more.

Seafair Weekend Festival | July 31-August 2 | 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Genesee Park | $22.79+ Friday general admission is free, and Saturday and Sunday are free for kids 0-12. | Tickets | All ages | This is a hydroplane racing event, air show, and festival all rolled into one. There will be live music, a car show, family-friendly activities, and more.

Newcastle Art Fair | Saturday, July 18 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Newcastle Commons | Free | All ages | More than 40 local artists will be selling their unique creations and sharing their artistic talents. Along with the artists, the event will include community organizations, refreshments, music, and activities for kids.

SandBlast Festival of the Arts | July 18-19 | Hours vary | McCormick Park, Duvall | Free | All ages | Showcase of the talent of a master sand carver. The festival also features a lineup of local musicians performing live on the main stage. And while you’re grooving to the music, be sure to check out the local artist booths.

Hopelink Neighborhood Fair | Friday, July 24 | 11 to 3 p.m. | Hopelink, Redmond | Free | This Fair brings the community together with local food, kid-friendly activities, music, and dance performances.

Redmond Derby Days | July 24-25 | Hours vary | Redmond City Hall | Free | This free summer festival celebrates the Redmond Community. Featuring a kid’s bike parade and a grand parade, food and craft vendors, carnival rides, and ends with a lighted drone show.

Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend | July 24-26 | Hours vary | Downtown Bellevue | Free | One of the Northwest’s largest arts festivals, featuring hundreds of artists, live music and performances, food trucks, interactive art activities, artist demonstrations, and plenty of free family programming. Kids can enjoy hands-on art projects and other creative activities throughout the weekend.

Redmond Arts Festival  | July 31-August 2 | Hours vary | Redmond Town Center | Free | This three-day outdoor festival features artist booths, a community art project, kids’ chalk art, and live entertainment. The festival is produced in conjunction with Redmond’s Derby Days celebration.

North of Seattle

Mill Creek Festival and Street Fair | July 11-12 | Hours vary | 911 161st St SE, Mill Creek | Free | Join this annual street fair, featuring artist & vendor booths, food booths, community & main stages, and beer/wine gardens. The community stage will offer family-friendly activities and performances, schedule TBD.

PorchFest Edmonds | Sunday, July 12 | 1-6 p.m. | Downtown Edmonds | Free | All ages | PorchFest is a family-friendly event featuring musicians and artists from a wide variety of genres.

Kla Ha Ya Days  | July 15-19 | Hours vary | Downtown Snohomish | Free | The City of Snohomish’s Kla Ha Ya Days, is a “good, old-fashioned” summer fair that includes a pancake breakfast, a Frogtastic Kids Fair, a parade, a balloon glow, a Street Fair and much more.

Fire Rescue Spectacular | Saturday, July 11 | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Hands on Children’s Museum, Olympia | Free | All ages | The free street fair is held outside the Museum and is guaranteed to be an action-packed day. Kids can explore Olympia’s fleet of emergency vehicles, take the Junior Firefighter Challenge, meet Sparky the Fire Dog, and enjoy free popsicles.

Ananda Mela Joyful Festival of India | August 8-9 | 12 to 9 p.m. | Redmond City Hall | Free | The Ananda Mela Joyful Festival of India features Indian music, dance, games, face painting, food, and more. There will be plenty of inflatables and activities to engage children.

Celebrate Woodinville Festival | Saturday, August 8 | 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Wilmot Gateway Park | Free | This festival offers a pancake breakfast, a parade, a classic car show, and kids’ activities, bouncy houses, and more. Lynnwood Luau Festival  | Saturday, August 15 | 2 to 8 p.m. | Lynnwood Event Center | Free | Come celebrate and embrace Hawaiian culture at this free summer festival. Live music, dance performances, and taste authentic Hawaiian food. This event is family-friendly and welcomes all ages.

Celebrate Shoreline Festival | Saturday, August 15 | 12-9 p.m. | Cromwell Park, Shoreline | Free | The festival features live music and shows on multiple stages, pony rides, children’s theater, toy workshop, hands-on activities, and a beer garden. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Fresh Paint Art Festival  | August 15-16 | Hours vary | Downtown Everett | Free | This vibrant event features over 100 artist booths, live entertainment, interactive activities, glassblowing, and more. Watch as artists create and sell their work on-site, offering a rare glimpse into their process and a chance to buy art fresh off the easel.

South of Seattle

Tacoma Kite Festival | August 1 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Chambers Creek Regional Park | Free | Tickets here | The entire family will experience kite demonstrations, family kite flying, inflatables, food trucks, vendors, and other fun activities! Free event, but parking admission is required. 250 kites will be given away for free!

Kite Festival at Long Beach | August 17-23 | Time TBD | Long Beach, WA | Free for spectators | Washington State kite extravaganza sets skies ablaze with color, high flying action and choreographed movement. Washington’s Kite Festival draws famous kite fliers from all around the world.

Kittitas County Fair | August 28-September 1 | Hours vary | Kittitas Valley Event Center | $6+ | Tickets here | a grand old-fashioned county fair, with games, carnival rides, entertainment, contests, judged 4-H exhibits and events and an abundance of livestock.

Washington State Fair | August 29-September 21 | Hours vary | Puyallup | Tickets here | Enjoy 75+ rides, endless food options, and live entertainment, rodeo action and much more at this large fair. Closed on Tuesdays and September 3.

West of Seattle

Little BIG Fest | August 14-16 | 3 to 11:30 p.m. | Whidbey Island Fairgrounds & Event Center | $20+ | Tickets | The festival features live music, artisan vendors, food trucks, a family friendly children zone and much more.

Bremerton Blackberry Festival  | August 30 – September 1 | Hours vary | Bremerton Boardwalk | Free | This is the longest-running festival in the City of Bremerton. Wooden Boat Festival  | September 11-13 | Hours vary | Northwest Maritime Center & Point Hudson Marina | $33+ | Families and kids can build a toy wooden boat, tour the harbor, explore the tall ships, row a rowboat, enjoy the plays, sing sea shanties, dance to the live music at the main stage, go on a pirate treasure hunt.
