Teens about to rock: Don’t miss City of Music Career Day on April 26. It’s a free event to network with music industry pros, and the last chance to register is this Tuesday, April 23.
City of Music Career Day is a rare opportunity for young artists to gain professional perspective on what it takes to make it in the competetive world of music. On Friday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., students (and non-students) ages 13 to 24 who have a passion for music can spend the day in MoPop and The Vera Project, at Seattle Center, learning how to follow their dreams.
The day-long program includes access to industry professionals, experiential learning, workshops and performances. Business and organizations that fuel the music economy – record labels, studios, concert promoters, and more – will be there to talk with young musicians about different career possibilities.
Attendees will be exposed to a wide range of music-related careers including performance, management, concert production, non-profit management, record label operations, retail, licensing, journalism, broadcasting, gaming and more.
City of Music Career Day is produced by One Reel, in partnership with Seattle Music Commission, the Office of Film & Music and the Office of Arts & Culture.
