Looking for an interactive and family friendly tour to get outdoors and explore Seattle? On the Eye Spy Seattle Architecture Tour, put on by the Seattle Architecture Foundation on Saturday, Sept. 14, children get a passport to take to each tour stop and the whole family can keep their eyes peeled for unique building details.
Tour stops include the 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Central Library and the Rainier Tower. These tours are recommended for youth 10 years of age or younger. The cost is $10 per each adult and child. The tour starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 11:45 a.m. Participants will meet at the Seattle Architecture Foundation Gallery and end at the Seattle Central Library.
As well, on Saturday, Sept. 21, young people can take to the streets to enjoy Seattle Architecture Foundation’s Picture This!, an architecture tour that challenges them to find and photograph design details through hints given by tour guides. This tour is offered in partnership with the Seattle Design Festival and would be a great time for the family to explore the many other events in Pioneer Square during the festival.
Bring a digital camera or smartphone and live tweet architectural photos or share them through tumblr or email at the end of the tour to earn awards in photographic creativity! This tour is recommended for youth ages 11 to 16, who do not need to be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $12 per youth. The tour starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 11:45 a.m. Participants will meet at the Seattle Architecture Foundation Gallery and end at the Seattle Central Library.
