On Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Greenwood Branch of the Seattle Public Library and local writing and after school tutoring nonprofit 826 Seattle will host a Greenwood Family Forum school success night for neighborhood parents and educators.

From 6 to 6:30 p.m., there will be time for snacks and mingling; then from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Teen Services Librarian Jennifer Bisson and 826 Seattle Director of Programming Alicia Craven will present on free programs at the library and 826, including resources for students doing research projects and the chance for parents to sign students up for the free weekend writing workshops offered by 826 Seattle in the winter.

This will be the first of three meetings throughout the year in which community members will gather to listen to guest speakers share expertise on topics of education and socio-emotional development, to converse and to create a community of parents and educators that will better support our students.
