Erika Lee Bigelow lives in Seattle with her husband, three kids, one dog and nine fish. On Fridays you can find her on Q13 at 9:15 a.m. with a hand-picked list of family-friendly activities for the weekend. Here's what's on this weekend.

 

Run Like A Viking 5K, Golden Gardens Park, Sat 8 am. Get our your horns and kick off Viking Days with a run through Ballard. Costumes encourages, dogs and strollers welcome. 

 

Snow White and the Seven: 'Each One, Teach One', Fri/Sat 1 & 7 pm, Sat/Sun 3 and 7 pm. Seattle Rep Theatre. 80 local kids perform in this tale of a young African-American girl who take a journey to connect her to herself and her African homeland. 

 

'80's Teen Film Series, Northgate Branch Seattle Public Library, Sat 2-4, 'Who ya gonna call?' Teens, of course, to come see a free screening of the 1980's classic film, Ghostbusters. Rated PG. spl.org

 

Movies at the Mural, Sat 8 p.m. Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater. BYO picnic and blanket and enjoy the waning days of summer with a movie. Into the Woods (PG) begins at dusk. No pets, please. seattlecenter.com

 

Arts in Nature Festival, Sat 11-9, Sun 11-6. Camp Long. 4 stages, a Museum of Sound in cabins, nature and art activities, hiking and more. 

 

Adventure Playground, Sun 1-4. Deane's Children's Park, Mercer Island. It's the final summer week in this free, unique play area which encourages kids to build their own wonderland. Toolboxes, wood, safety items and other building supplies provided. Open 1-4, Tues, Thurs and Sun. mercergov.org
