Erika's weekend picks: Caspar Babypants, Scarecrow Mini Fest, and Salmon SEEson

Saturday/Sunday Family Concert: Caspar Babypants, Sat/Sun 10:30 and 12:30. Town Hall. Caspar has a new album! Come dance and sing along as Caspar rocks the house. $5 adults accompanying kids. Kids 12 and younger are free. townhallseattle.org

 

Scarecrow Mini Fest, Magnuson Community Center. Sat 11-2. Scavenger hunt, games in the garden, live music, ride-on tractor, scarecrow making and more. BYO old clothes and a pillowcase for your scarecrow. Event is free, but scarecrow materials are $15. magnusonnatureprograms.com

 

Park in the Dark Night Hike, WA Park Arboretum Graham Visitors Center. Sat 6:30-8 p.m. The nocturnal critters are out and maybe you can see them. Learn about creatures who have adapted to life in the dark and then take a walk thru the arboretum and try out your night senses. For kids 5-12 and their families. $8. The Party Strikes Back, EMP Sat 7-11 p.m. Star Wars and the Power of Costume Exhibit is closing. Don your favorite Star Wars costume, explore the exhibition, dance with Ewoks, duel with lightsabers and play some galactic games. $30, $25 members, $20 ages 5-17, free 4 and younger. empmuseum.org

 

Salmon SEEson in Issaquah, Sat/Sun 11 and 1 p.m. FREE. Head to Issaquah Creek and watch the salmon jumping upstream from the bridge or through viewing windows. Hatchery docents will give tours at 11 and 1, weekends thru November 15. 

 

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sat 7:30, Sun 1:30 thru Sept 27. Highline Performing Arts Center, Burien. A classic musical brought to life on stage by the Hi-Liners this weekend. Come be enchanted by a magical car and the family that finds it.  $18-25, $15 students and seniors, $12 kids, $3 more at the door. hi-liners.org/mainstage.html
