Toddler Gym Community centers all over the city host indoor gyms for children ages 5 and younger. Toys and activities vary at each gym but most include tricycles, push-cars, climbing structures and soft mats for little ones. Various times and locations. See complete schedule here.

Bilingual Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Kids ages 5 and younger along with their caregivers are invited to have fun singing songs, telling stories, reading books, creating art and playing in English and Spanish. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Tukwila Library (Tukwila).

University Village Play Days Paint the Town is hosting the play day this week. Kids are invited to paint their own ceramic tile. 10 to 11 a.m. Paint the Town – University Village (U District).

Toddler Science Story Time & Play Hour Co-hosted by Seahurst Park Environmental Science Center, kids ages 2 to 3 and their caregivers can enjoy songs, activities, and story time. 10:30 a.m. Burien Library (Burien).
Seattle City Hall Community Concert Experience Ravel’s celebrated Mother Goose Suite in this French-inspired program also featuring 2018 Young Artist, violinist Marley Erickson, playing Mozart’s Adagio in E major. Noon. Seattle City Hall (Downtown Seattle).
Sweet Pea Cottage Theatre Shows Enjoy two folk tales from Japan—Tasty Baby Belly Buttons (taken from the classic tale The Peach Boy and the adaptation by Judy Sierra). Then, learn the true meaning of kindness and generosity in The Rabbit in the Moon. Run around the toddler gym before or after the show (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). Burien Children's Book Club Kids ages 5 to 11 and their caregivers are invited to discuss a book, and enjoy snacks. This week’s book is Tito Puente, Mambo King by Monica Brown. Read the book ahead of time, or just drop in. 4:30 p.m. Burien Library (Burien).
Thursday, March 1
Museum First Thursday Enjoy free admission to select museums (note: there may be admission for special exhibits) including Burke Museum (U District), Museum of History and Industry (South Lake Union), Living Computers 5 to 8 p.m. (Sodo), Seattle Art Museum (Downtown Seattle), Northwest African American Museum (Central District) and Museum of Flight 5 to 9 p.m. (Tukwila). Wing Luke Museum has a children’s story time followed by an art activity at 11 a.m. featuring The Race for the Chinese Zodiac by Gabrielle Wang.
Nordic Stories While the Nordic Museum is under construction (Grand Opening May 5!), Secret Garden Books is hosting Nordic stories for preschoolers followed by a craft project on the first Thursday of each month. Today’s book is from Iceland, Frances Dean Who Loved to Dance and Dance, by Birgitta Sif. 10:30 a.m. Secret Garden Books (Ballard).

Dinosaur Movement: From Humble Beginnings to Earth-Shaking Giants World-renowned Tyrannosaurus rex expert Dr. John Hutchinson will share the latest research on how dinosaurs moved, and how their walking and running changed over time—especially as they evolved into sizeable giants.
