Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day
Sat Oct 6 9:45 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Duthie Hill Park, Issaquah FREE

BYO bike and helmet and try out the trails at Duthie Hill Park this Saturday. Guided rides start at 10 a.m. Mini skills clinics will teach kids all about cornering, uphill/downhill, rock dodge, wheel lifts and more. Then stick around for a BBQ lunch, prizes and more.

 

Maple Festival
Sat/Sun Oct 6-7 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Seattle Japanese Garden

Fall is here and the leaves are turning all sorts of beautiful colors. Come to the Japanese Garden for a fun day of nature-inspired craft making and a maple-tree scavenger hunt. See live cultural performances, too. Free with garden admission ($8 adults; $6 Seattle residents with ID; $4 children 6 to 17). 

 

Issaquah Salmon Days Festival
Sat Oct 6 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Downtown Issaquah. FREE

The salmon are swimming. Celebrate their yearly return to Issaquah’s waterways this Saturday with a fun day of hatchery tours, a carnival, grand parade and fun, fishy hands-on activities for kids. No pets.

 

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
Sat Oct 6 2-4 p.m.
Taproot Theater Company

Taproot Theater brings Sherlock Holmes to life on stage this month. Join him as he searches for clues to explain a mysterious death on a haunted moor. Great for ages 12 and older. The show runs through Oct. 20. $15 to $45.

 

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Sat Oct 6 3 p.m.
Magnuson Park Theatre

Bunraku (ancient Japanese puppetry) is center stage at this delightful production of a classic story. Come see the three bears as they load up their trailer and leave Yellowstone Park for a vacation in Hollywood. When Goldilocks and her pet duck stumble upon their campsite will the porridge be too hot or the bed just right? $10.

 

CroatiaFest
Sun Oct 7 noon-6 p.m.
Seattle Center Armory. FREE

Explore the Croatian culture all day on Sunday at the Seattle Center. Lively music, native dance performances, delicious food, fun activities, art, demonstrations, workshops and more.
