“All Kids Can Create” Call for Children’s Art

Children's art is sought for the "All Kids Can Create" visual arts program, which showcases how students with and without disabilities learn through the arts in their schools and communities. The program is presented annually by VSA, an organization that helps people with disabilities participate in and enjoy the arts; and CVS Caremark All Kids Can, a five-year, $25 million commitment to support children with disabilities. The deadline for application is Friday, Feb. 4.

All submitted artwork will be featured in an online gallery and considered for display in a national touring exhibition debuting in Washington, D.C., in June 2011. The exhibition will feature two pieces of artwork from each state. All submissions will be included at the exhibition in an interactive kiosk, even if not selected for the touring show. In addition, teachers who submit their students' artwork are eligible to receive one of five $1,500 awards for use in their classroom.

The theme this year is "Imagination Across America," and students are invited to share their favorite daydreams through art. The program is open to students ages 5 to 15, of all abilities. Works in various artistic media may be submitted. To learn more, visit www.artsonia.com/allkidscancreate.
