Tickets are going fast for a chance to experience a magical step back in time at Fort Nisqually. That’s the living history settlement inside Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.
Candles and campfires will light the people and events of 1855 during Candlelight Tours on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, 2024.
Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is a restoration of the Hudson’s Bay Company outpost and headquarters of the Puget Sound Agricultural Company. Visitors will encounter Hudson’s Bay Company employees and their families, American settlers and more. Volunteer historical interpreters will interact with each other but will appear unaware of their 21st century visitors.
The tours are about an hour long and start every 15 minutes. Parking is at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium; visitors will be shuttled to Fort Nisqually.
The first tours are at 6 p.m. each evening, but it appears that the early times are going fastest. Here’s how to reserve. The price is $18 for adults and $13 for children.
