Take a love of books, add a cup of creativity and an optional dash of word play, mix in a variety of edible ingredients, and you have the makings of an entry for the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council's Edible Books Festival.
The festival, which usually takes place as a physical event, moved online this year.
“This is one thing people can still do at home, and still be creative,” said Terri Price, Programs Manager for the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council.
Life under a stay-at-home order may constrain what entries are possible. For example, baked goods may not be as popular as usual, because flour has been hard to find on store shelves lately.
Register here before 5 p.m. Friday, April 3 to add your entry. There are categories for students in grades K to 12, for adults, and for culinary professionals. People are encouraged to explain what went into making their creations, Price says.
Puns have been popular in years past. Consider the 2017 entry in the picture: "Brown Pear, Brown Pear, What do you See?"
Or ““Old man and the ‘C’” from 2017.

But really the only limits are that the creations be edible and based on a book.
You can vote online for your contest favorites on Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5. After 4 p.m. Sunday, the winners will be announced by livestream on Facebook.
