Women Fly! Guest Speaker Jessica Cox, Sat 2-3:30 p.m. Want to see determination and grit in person? Ms. Cox was born without arms but strove to live an active life. She learned to drive a car, earned a black belt in karate, scuba dived, drove a car and learned to fly a plane….with her feet. Family Design Workshop: Cities/Green in the Concrete Jungle, Sat 11-2. Seattle Architecture Foundation Gallery. Kids ages 6-10 and their families will brainstorm how to connect nature to the city then create a model to illustrate their ideas. $20, $15 members. brownpapertickets.com/event/875964

Winter Weekends: Kids' Saturdays in the Park, Sat 11-3. Olympic Sculpture Park. Free. We share an ocean with Japan. Learn about how it influences our cultures and invent new ways to take care of it. Story time at 11:30 a.m. Movie (Ponyo) at 1 p.m. seattleartmuseum.org

Children's Concert with Mikey Mike, Sat 2-3 p.m. Springfree Trampoline, Issaquah. Free. Local favorite musician Mikey Mike will be bumping up the tunes to match the bouncing on the trampolines. Come sing, dance and jump along. mikeymikemusic.bandcamp.com

Bathtub Pirates, Sat 3 p.m. NW Puppet Center. Captain Blackbeard and band of rascal pirates have launched an attack on…. a bathtub? Will the rubber duckie have to swab the deck? Come sail along for this imaginarrrry adventure. $11, $9 seniors and ages 16 and younger. pirate.brownpapertickets.com

Vegfest 2015, Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, Sat 10-6. If your kids love their veggies or if you wish they did, this is a great stop this weekend. Cooking demos and tons of food samples plus Zero and Somebuddy Clown shows, story time and a kids' area full of activities. $8, free ages 12 and younger. seattlevegfest.org
