Do the kids in your house love science? Head to the Mountlake Terrace Library where they can (safely) combine household materials to make a goopy chemical concoction! Great for kids ages 5-11. Supplies are limited, so please register!
Ranger-Guided Snowshoe Walks Sat, Jan 25 11 a.m. Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center, Mount Rainier National Park. $5 donation.
Guided snowshoe walks at Paradise run weekends January through March, conditions permitting. Join the fun for a 2-hour, 1.8 mile walk for ages 8 and up. Space is limited, sign-up at the Jackson Visitor Center information desk one hour before each walk. All snowshoe walk participants must be present at sign-up. For the walk you will need hat, gloves, boots, sunscreen, sunglasses & snowshoes. Snowshoes are provided by the park during the ranger-guided snowshoe walks for a $5 donation. The park concessioner, Longmire General Store, also rents snowshoes. Check weather conditions here.

Dress up like a pterosaur, make your own pterodactyl flyer, dig up theropod fossils, hold fossils and casts at the touch table, then head for the 3rd floor on a Jurassic quest to see the latest fossils being prepared in the paleontology lab.
