Family Nature Class: Art in Nature Sat Mar 7 9:30-11:30 a.m. Washington Park Arboretum $19/ 1st child and caregiver. $9.50 for each additional child. Additional adults and siblings under 2 are FREE!

Get outside with your preschooler and explore the natural world using all five senses at the UW Botanic Gardens. After a trip around some learning stations, there’s an opening circle and hike where the group will play games, listen to a story and further explore the weekly theme.

 

Paramount Theater Tour, Sat Mar 7 10 a.m. Paramount Theater FREE

Calling all theater buffs – the Paramount Theatre hosts a free monthly tour the first Saturday of every month! Come and learn amazing facts about this historical landmark, which opened in 1928 as the Seattle Theatre. Please meet in front of the main entrance of the theatre – on the corner of 9th and Pine – by 10 am. The tours will last approximately 90 minutes and will be lead by members of our well-versed volunteer staff. Best for ages 7 and older.

Science, Nature & a Biscuit, Sat Mar 7 1-3 p.m. Seward Park Audubon Center. $5. Pre-register. 

Did you know that the Streaked Horned Lark makes its ground nest in the grasslands of Washington and Oregon? This beautiful songbird is listed as an endangered species by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Come join a team of University of Washington students who are taking up the challenge to advocate on behalf of this curious bird, and learn all about and what you can do to protect it. Best for ages 12 and older.
