Description
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most celebrated holidays and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Join The Bellevue Collection and Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community for this celebration of new beginnings, light and joy with performances, cultural displays, henna, and Diwali crafts.
The Bellevue Collection is hosting a Diwali celebration from October 10-19, with Rangoli and Sari displays from artists of the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community in Bellevue Square. There will be take-home lanterns to craft and a photo op area, more.
Displays throughout the first level of Bellevue Square can be viewed from October 10 - 19:
Sari Display:
A sari is a traditional garment worn in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. These beautiful garments are worn during celebrations including Diwali. See a display of saris (sarees) in Bellevue Square presented by the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community.
Rangoli Display:
See beautiful rangoli made from sand on display in Bellevue Square from artists of the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community.
Diwali Pop Spot:
Stop by Bellevue Square's Center Court and snap a picture in the Diwali Pop Spot.
Lantern Craft
Pick up a Lantern Craft at Bellevue Square's Guest Services to make at home, while supplies last.
