Description
Join Bainbridge Island for their Mochi Tsuki Festival. Mochi Tsuki, or pounding rice to make mochi rice cakes is an important traditional event in preparation for the New Year. During this festive event, attendees will get to experience authentic mochi steaming over an outdoor fire, mochi pounding in a traditional stone bowl, making mochi balls, and indulging afterward.
New this year:
- Learn to play the ancient game of GO
- Learn about the new Japanese American Museum of WA
- Two food vendors: Sushiko and Grillipino
- Parking: There will be a complimentary shuttle service from 10:30-3:30 from the Island Church and Bethany Lutheran parking lots.
