All State Parks are free on Veterans Day on Nov. 11- that is, they do not require a Discover Pass or parking fee to park your car.

Don't forget about the state park closest to Seattle at the north end of Lake Washington. - St. Edwards State Park is a grand outing when Washington State Parks are free on this day: Ā The 326-acre park has 3,000 feet of Lake Washington shoreline, ballfields, great picnic spots and miles of trails, popular for both hiking and mountain biking. Not to be missed: an old orchard and a river-rock alcove called The Grotto (which can be rented for events, above) and a sprawling play structure built thanks to community funding.
