The Northwest Film Forum will host the 8th annual family-friendly Seattle Bike-In, scheduled for 5 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 in Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill in Seattle. The event is co-presented with The Vera Project and Sustainable Seattle.
The Bike-In is a free outdoor celebration of sustainable transportation, community and the arts. The event includes a fair from local cycling organizations and merchants, live music performances and a film screening at dusk of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the 1985 comedy classic by Tim Burton about Pee-Wee's search for a stolen bicycle, with a re-mixed/replaced soundtrack (including new music, sound effects and live DJing on vinyl) by Jon Francois (DUG) & Eardrumz (Stop Biting).
The Bike-In will feature live music from Tacoma-based post-rock band Lo' There Do I See My Brother; live DJ sets curated by The Vera Project; neighborhood walking tours hosted by Sustainable Seattle; free giveaways from local organizations including Hub and Bespoke, Timbuk2 and YourCapitolHill.com; a raffle of cycling swag from local merchants and more.
Free valet bicycle parking is available for attendees at Cal Anderson Park on a first come, first served basis, courtesy of Bike Works. More details about the event can be found on the event website and on Facebook.
