Get your family dancing with NW Folklife's virtual "Movin' Around the World" workshops

The coronavirus pandemic means that Northwest Folklife’s “Movin’ Around the World” festival won’t be taking the stage at Seattle Center this April, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do some dancing.

Folklife is presenting the festival in virtual form, with a series of online dance and culture workshops at 11 a.m. Monday April 13 through Friday April 17, featuring dances, music and culture from around the world. For more information, go to this website.

Here’s the schedule:

Monday, April 13: Flamenco with Ana Montes

Tuesday, April 14: Modern Movement with Ciara McCormack of Moving Minds Dance

Wednesday, April 15: Bharantanatyam dance with Kalalaya Dance

Thursday, April 16: Appalachian Flatfooting with Charmaine Slaven

Friday, April 17: Brazilian Capoeira with Silvio Dos Reis of International Capoeira Angola Foundation
