Family-Friendly Valentine’s Events Around Seattle

Craft cards, animal love, fun parties and more

Love is in the air, and we’re here to celebrate! Here are family-friendly Valentine’s events and activities happening around Seattle.

 

Love Run at Les Gove Park

Date/Time: Saturday, February 1. 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Location: Les Gove Park, 910 9th St SE, Auburn, WA 98002

Ages: 5+, all ages

he Almost 5K Love Run & Walk is an in-person fun run, part of Auburn’s new Almost 5k, Always Fun Run Series. The Love Run & Walk is perfect for all ages and abilities. Join this fun event to kick off American Heart Month. This family-friendly run is an easy run around Les Gove Park. This fun run will utilize the big loop at Les Gove Park. Five loops around is “almost” a 5K (short of a 5K by 1,138 feet). Community vendors will be on site to share information on American Heart Month. Activities will keep the festivities going after you’ve completed your laps.

 

For the Love of Local at Infinity Farm Issaquah

Date/Time: Saturday, February 1. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Location: Infinity Farms, 16523 Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast, Issaquah, WA 98027

Cost: Free

For the Love of Local is a FREE public event that will include handmade vendors, food trucks, kids activities, and a chance to feed lambs, alpacas, and cows. Free entry and parking. Attendees are encouraged to wear boots and layers, as February can be unpredictable and the farm is an outdoor space. Covered eating areas and the event space will be available for folks to use as they eat lunch and recharge. Local Appreciation Day (Love Month Kickoff Event)

Date/Time: Saturday, February 1. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate Local Appreciation Day, the official kickoff to Local Love Month at Pike Place Market! This annual event is their way of thanking market supporters who shop at local businesses, enjoy local foods, and champion the community of small business owners, farmers, artisans, and performers all year long. Explore the Market, filled with live busker music, artist demonstrations, interactive pop-up murals, and the chance to play Market Bingo. Shoppers can also take advantage of an exclusive shopping offer: spend $50 or more to receive a Pike Place Market enamel pin and traveler mug, while supplies last. Throughout the Market, keep an eye out for their iconic red umbrellas—they signal live demonstrations and performances by local artists and entertainers. Each umbrella offers a unique mini-event

Market business, Art Stall Gallery—a women-run cooperative celebrating its 60th anniversary—will host live painting demonstrations in the Economy Atrium, offering a unique glimpse into their artistic process.

Live Busker Music with performances across three stages (11 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.) including Clock & Sign Farm Stage (Party Cats, Vince Bigos, Travelin’ Miles, and Sara Benson). Father Daughter Valentines Dance – Marysville

Date/Time: February 1 and 8. 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. 

Location: Cedarcrest Middle School, 6400 88th St NE, Marysville, WA 98270

Cost: $30 for a father and daughter couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Register here.

Fathers and daughters of all ages can join for the annual Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance, which takes place in the Cedarcrest Middle School cafeteria. Enjoy refreshments, music and receive a 5×7 photo to commemorate a memorable night of dancing with Dad. Participants can choose from four different dance options on two consecutive Saturdays. Each date will have a 5:30 pm and a 7:30 pm dance option. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. This event tends to sell out quickly, so reserve your spot early.

 

Valentine’s Day Crafternoon at Issaquah Library

Date/Time: Sunday, February 2. 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Join this family program to make Valentine’s Day cards and mini origami boxes at Issaquah Library. All ages welcome for card-making. Ages 8 and older for origami boxes, or younger with adult assistance.

 

DIY Valentine’s Day Cards

Make Valentine’s Day cards for friends & family at the Richmond Beach Library. Create cards using paper, ribbon, rubber stamps, stickers and other items, while supplies last.

 

Valentine’s Day Card Making Workshop at Covington Library

Date/Time: Wednesday, February 5. 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Ages: Teens, ages 13-17

Make cards for Valentines, pal-entines or even anti-Valentines at the Covington Library. They will provide some samples for inspiration, but what you make is up to you. All supplies and snacks are provided.

 

Make and Take Valentine’s Cards at Third Place Commons

Date/Time: Friday, February 7. 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Drop in to make handmade Valentine’s cards at Third Place Commons. While supplies last. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Forest Park Library. Registration not required. Be sure to check the library website before attending the event in case of any cancellation.

 

Valentine’s Day Dash Alexander’s Hope

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Cost: $25 for youth 5K for 10 and under (price $30 after Jan 29), $30 for 5K Run/walk (price $35 after Jan 29). Kids Dash: FREE.

Bring your kids and family to the 6th Annual Alexander’s Hope Valentine’s Day Dash 5K Run/Walk and KIDS DASH on February 8th, 2025. Dogs & strollers are both welcome at the race. The race will begin at Bellevue Park and run along the streets of Bellevue. The Kids Dash starts at 8:45 am, a small loop around the venue for kids 5 and under. The Kids Dash is free, and you can sign up on their RunSignUp or on a sheet at packet pick up. Register here.

 

Pasados Safe Haven Sanctuary & Sweets

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Location:Due to the nature of the facility, Pasado’s can’t have their address publicly listed. The address will be provided upon tour reservation.

Cost: $40 for adults, $25 for kids ages 4-10, and 4 and under is free. Sign up here.

Pasado’s Safe Haven is having a Sanctuary & Sweets event on February 8, 2025. Come celebrate Valentine’s Day with the animals of Pasado’s Safe Haven while you indulge in cruelty-free sweets and treats! Their Sanctuary & Sweets event will be a special chance to witness love and compassion within the community and at the sanctuary. Sanctuary & Sweets will take place at the beautiful farmed animal sanctuary in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. During a 90 minute guided walking tour of the sanctuary, tour guides will introduce you to the loving animal residents of Pasado’s Safe Haven while you hear their inspiring stories of rescue and recovery. After your tour, you will receive a box full of vegan desserts baked by their Chef Amy Webster to sample or bring home to share

 

Valentine’s Day Princess Cookie Party

Join this special Valentine’s Day event full of fun and creativity with your little ones. This family event will have princess meet and greets where you will get to meet three princesses with photography provided, cookie decorating station (each child will receive two cookies to decorate with frosting and sprinkles), a Valentine’s Day card station, mini bouquet making station with fresh flowers and more! All the photos from the princess meet and greets and during the event will be free. Each child needs a ticket to attend, and it is recommended for ages 3+. Adults are free but spacing is limited. There will be 3 time slots including 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

 

Little Crafternoon Valentine’s Day-Themed

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Ages: 9 and younger with an adult

Come to the children’s area for fun, low-mess paper crafts. Practice drawing, coloring, and using scissors with child-friendly, Valentine’s-themed activities at the Sammamish Library. All materials provided. Space and supplies are limited.

 

Valentine’s Day at Issaquah Community Center

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Location: Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd S, Issaquah, WA 98027

Cost: $27-$45

Grades: K-5th grade

Celebrate Valentine’s with your children and be ready to show off your dance moves at the Valentine Dance at the Issaquah Community Center on Feb 8. This is the perfect “date night” for you and your elementary school-aged child. You can dress casual or formal. The accompanying adult is welcome to bring more than one child for no extra cost (child MUST be elementary school age). If you have children in both age groups, choose either timeframe. Sweetheart Dinner Train Ride

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Hop aboard the 2025 Sweetheart Dinner Train Ride in the Chehalis River Valley to celebrate your Valentine. This 2-hour excursion will be on a restored 1920’s dining car and transport back in time during this scenic dinner train. Enjoy a 3-course dinner prepared by the popular local caterer from Once Upon A Thyme. Reservations must be made 6 days before the departure date. Seating choices and tickets must be reserved online. Kids Invite Someone Special Valentine’s Dance

Kids Invite Someone Special for a Valentine’s Day dance! Join in a special evening for dads, daughters, moms, sons, grandparents, or anyone else who is special in a child’s life! Enjoy music, dancing, refreshments, crafts, photo opportunities, and more. This dance is designed for children ages 4-12 and their designated adult guest(s). Semi-formal attire is encouraged, but not required. Adults and kids must register to attend. Registration is per person.

 

Sweetheart Family Dance

Date/Time: Saturday, February 8. 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Location: Edmonds Waterfront Center, 220 Railroad Ave, Edmonds, WA 98020

Ages: 1+

Bring your sweethearts for an evening of dancing, crafts, snacks, and fun. Kids, moms, dads, grandparents, and friends are invited to join the party. This family-friendly Valentines event is held at the Edmonds Waterfront Center, and tickets sell out fast so register in advance (tickets will not be sold at the door).

 

Valentine’s Market in Kenmore

Date/Time: February 8-9. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day

Toddler Valentine’s Party

Join Laurelhurst Community Center for some Valentine’s fun! The pint-sized Toddler Valentine event will have games, arts and crafts, music, treats, and fun for all. This event is for ages 1-5, and there will be activities focused on each age group. Valentine-themed outfits are encouraged but not required! (Pre-registration required.)

 

Valentine’s Party at We Be Book’n in Monroe

Light-up Valentine’s Day Cards

Make an LED-powered Valentine’s Day card at the Enumclaw Library. This event is tailored for tweens and teens (ages 9 to 12) and doesn’t require registration. First come, first served while supplies last.

 

Valentine’s Day at KidsQuest Museum

Date/Time: Friday, February 14. 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Celebrate all things love at KidsQuest this Valentine’s Day! Join this family-friendly event for a full Museum takeover with activities that dive into science and love. At this super science night love lab, you will decorate a cookie, make a love boat and taste test a love drop. Mr. Bri Guy will be performing love songs at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

 

Valentine’s Truck Kids Class at Wine & Design

Date/Time: Saturday, February 15. 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Join the Art Buzz Kids program at Wine & Design in Snohomish to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Kids will explore their inner creativity by joining this painting lesson, no previous art experience needed. All canvases are lightly pre-sketched to get your child started in this painting class. There will be refreshments including juice and water for the kiddos and all supplies are provided as well. Be sure to dress your child in paint friendly clothing for this class.

Valentine’s Day 5K in Tacoma (Sold out)

Date/Time: Saturday, February 15. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Location: Dune Penisula Park, Tacoma WA

Ages: 6+

Celebrate the holiday at this fun Valentine’s Day event centered around love! This is an out-and-back route along Ruston Way with views of Dune Peninsula, Point Ruston, and Mt Rainier. Please make sure to register by January 30, 2025 to guarantee your t-shirt will be ready on race day.

 

PDZA Love at the Zoo 

Date/Time: February 15-16. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Location: Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, 5400 N Pearl St, Tacoma, WA 98407

Show your love for the furry, feathered, and finned friends by joining the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium for Love at the Zoo! Bring Valentines and find hidden hearts throughout the weekend. At this family-friendly event, families can watch animals enjoy Valentine-themed enrichments like heart-shaped ice treats, bamboo hearts, whipped cream, watermelon, and more. There will be a scavenger hunt and walk the zoo to find the 12 big heart cutouts, each with a QR code unlocking a secret web page full of animal pictures, videos and fun facts. Kids can also send a special furry friend through the zoo-themed Valentine’s activity.
