Several locations in the King County Library System are hosting story times geared toward kids with special needs in April and May.
The schedule is follows:
Move and Groove: Toddler and Special Needs Story Time: Carnation Library, 4804 Tolt Ave., Carnation. 425-333-4398
- Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.: April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, 8, 15, 22
- For any age, but especially geared toward young toddlers, toddlers and special needs children who need to move. Explore the world with books, songs, sign language and the alphabet all while enjoying lots of creative movement and music. Perfect for any child who can’t sit still. A parent, grandparent or adult must attend and participate.
Move and Groove: Family Story Time: Federal Way Library, 34200 1st Way S., Federal Way. 253-838-3668
- Mondays, 1:30 p.m.: April 22, May 13
- Explore the world through books, songs, sign language, fingerplays and puppets, while enjoying lots of creative movement and music. Perfect for any child who can’t sit still. Especially geared toward toddlers and young children who have special needs and their families. Children must attend with an adult.
Super Saturdays: Story Time for Children with Special Needs: Kirkland Library, 308 Kirkland Ave., Kirkland. 425-822-2459
- Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.: April 6, May 18
- Join in once a month for stories, music and activities designed for children with special needs and their families. This program targets developmental ages 3 to 6, although children of all ages are welcome with an adult. Registration not required. Call and ask for Patricia Ferrell, children’s librarian if you have questions.
Once Upon a Saturday: Special Needs Story Time: North Bend Library, 115 E. 4th, North Bend. 425-888-0554
- Saturdays, 10 a.m.: April 27, May 25, June 22
- Join in for stories, songs and activities designed for children with special needs and their families. This program targets developmental ages 3 to 6, although children of all ages and abilities are welcome with an adult caregiver. For more information, contact Kate at the North Bend Library.
