Seattle Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteer managers for its QuickStart tennis league, which helps keep league fees low ($35 for an eight-week program). Volunteers can be tennis aficionados, parents, fans or anyone who enjoys helping kids succeed. No tennis experience is required.
Seattle Parks and Recreation continues its play-based tennis league for youth with little to no experience at 14 community centers across the city. The United States Tennis Association developed QuickStart tennis, after decades of refining an introductory program to get youth playing tennis. Seattle signups begin on Tuesday, May 24, and practices start Tuesday, June 28.
There will be free QuickStart volunteer training sessions on Saturday, May 7, at AV Performance, located at 13203 N.E. 16th St. in Bellevue, and on Saturday, June 11, at The Racquet Training Center, located at 6310 N.E. 74th St. (Building 30 at Magnuson Park) in Seattle.
