“Math Moves!” at Pacific Science Center opens Jan 23

A new exhibit opening up at Pac Sci on Jan 23 teaches grown-ups and kids math concepts with fun, full-body games.

Attention, mathletes!

Flex your brainpower — and muscles — at Pacific Science Center’s new exhibit “Math Moves!” beginning Saturday, Jan. 23 through May 1 (Pac Sci membership preview Friday, Jan. 22).  Kids (and adults) will gain a better understanding of math concepts through playful, full-body exercises involving imagination and teamwork. Activities include creating graphs of motion that reflect changes in walking speed and comparing them to a partner’s, understanding proportional relationships through shadow play, comparing frequencies of clicks made by different-sized wheels and learning about ratios by using tone generators to show patterns of different sounds.  Exhibit included with admission or membership.
