New Story Time Sessions for Autistic Youth

A new early learning story time geared toward children ages 10 and younger who have a hard time in larger story time groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload recently kicked off in Seattle.

Story times will alternate between the Columbia and Greenwood branches of Seattle Public Library and take place on Saturdays at 10:15 a.m. from now through Nov. 23. Story times are limited to 15 families and are not appropriate for day cares. The librarians will use preschool-level books, songs and movement.

Registration is required. Please call the individual branch to register (Columbia City, 206-386-1908; Greenwood, 206-684-4086). Visit www.spl.org/sensorystorytime for more information about the story times, or contact Jennifer Bisson, Youth Services Librarian at the Greenwood Library, at 206-684-9234.
