Public Meeting Tonight for New Belltown Community Center

A site at the southwest corner of Bell Street and 5th Avenue is being considered as a new community center for the Belltown neighborhood. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Belltown Community Council invite the community to participate in the planning for the new center at a public meeting on Wednesday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at 314 Bell St.

In 1999, Seattle voters approved a renewal of the 1991 Community Centers and Seattle Center Levy. Belltown Community Center was a named project of this levy and Seattle Parks has been working with the community to find an appropriate site for the center.

Parks staff will outline the project scope and schedule at the meeting, and encourages the public to participate by bringing their ideas and creative thoughts to help make this project successful in serving community needs.
