Rally in Olympia Thursday to “Protect Our Future”

The state budget should not be balanced on the backs of our state’s low-income people, children and struggling families. But cuts are hurting kids and families right now. Join the “Rally to Protect Our Future” on the Capitol steps in Olympia on Thursday, March 17, at noon. RSVP today: https://action.voices.org/site/R?i=CKrcF7am8_UTBRzQTH2CgQ.

While legislators slash funding for schools, health care, child care and food assistance, the budget still includes millions in tax breaks that don’t benefit the public. It’s time for our legislators to stand strong, close tax loopholes that don’t serve the public interest, and protect Washington state’s children and families.

The rally will be fun, energizing and will send a strong message to lawmakers that we won’t accept more cuts that hurt kids, families and our communities. There is a bus headed to Olympia from Seattle for the rally.

If you would like to meet with your legislators after the rally, contact Siobhan Ring at siobhan@childrensalliance.org, who can help you prepare.
