Unless you grew up in Canada, Alaska or near the Great Lakes, you likely havenāt done a great deal of ice skating. Yet every year in the crisp December air (or every fourth year, right around the Winter Olympics), you yearn to Shoot the Duck or attempt something dangerous called a Salchow. Thankfully, Seattle has many rinks to accommodate your freestyle prowess.
Here are ultimate guide to all the rinks in and around Seattle that you can take the family to during the winter. Some of these rinks are only open seasonal and others year round.
Downtown Seattle
Ice Skating at Enchant Christmas
Wander the light maze or glide along the ice skating trail while getting the full holiday experience at Enchant Christmas at T-Mobile Park. There is something for everyone, and it will feature holiday festivities, including a visit with Santa and Mrs Claus, a shopping village, a children’s play space, and seasonal food and drink.

Pop up Ice Skating in Occidental Square
Downtown offers a pop-up ice skating rink in Occidental Square in December. 2024 dates and information coming soon.Ā

Eastside:
Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink
Located in Bellevue Downtown Park, this open-air arena offers concessions. Some weekday evenings have special hours for stroller skate and skating lessons.

Tulalip Lights & Ice
Take a family fun outing to the Tulalip Amphitheatre for their Tulalip Lights & Ice seasonal ice skating rink and see over 7 million holiday lights displayed throughout Quil Ceda Village.

Angel of the Winds Arena (Everett Community Ice Rink)
Come to the Everett Community Ice Rink for public skating. The ice skating is open year round, during various times through out the week. Check their calendar for the schedule.

Lynnwood Ice Center is ice rink located north of Seattle that offers public skating sessions as well as hockey and lessons. This is a great place for the family to hit the ice and enjoy a fun day out together, and once you’re done skating you can enjoy a treat from their snack bar. All skaters are required to pay online and register before arriving. The arena hasĀ private birthday party rooms, hockey skate rentals, figure skating rentals and a pro-shop for all your ice skating or hockey gear.

Kraken Community Iceplex
Bring your family and friends and join fellow Kraken fans and Seattleites alike for public skate sessions over lunch hours, weekends, and evenings. All ages and levels are welcome, and helmets are recommended. The ice rink offers sensory-friendly skate, toddler play hour, and themed skate sessions. They have a bar and grill on the upper level that provides a full food menu and has a view of the ice rink so you can watch hockey leagues play on the ice.

South of Seattle
Oly On Ice
Join some winter fun at this popular pop up ice skating rink located down south of Seattle in Olympia. It is open during the weekdays and weekends. There is free parking available next to the rink at the city lots during evening and weekend hours and street parking available downtown.
When: Open Nov. 22, 2024 through January 20, 2025

Ice Skating at Holiday Magic
Take a spin around The GliceĀ® synthetic ice rink and listen to your favorite holiday tunes! Available as an add-on and includes skate rentals. Space is limited, so reserve your spot early. All skaters must be at least 2-years-old. Skaters 12-years-old and younger must be supervised by an adult.

Kent Valley Ice Centre
Kent Valley Ice Centre is open all year-round andĀ whether you are brand-newĀ or highly experienced they welcome skaters of all ages and abilities to join us for our public skate sessions. They have great sound system, blacklight skate sessions and over a thousand pairs of rental skates on hand!

Sprinker Recreation Center
Sprinker Recreation Center has a series of figure skating, learn to skate, hockey programs and public skate sessions. If you like bumper cars, come experience the thrill of driving them on ice! West of Seattle
Bremerton Ice Center
This ice skating center has it all for all levels and ages. They have a special deal, where you can skate for free on Wednesdays (2 to 5 p.m. ) with your own skates ($5 skate rental) if you go to the parks and recreation office in the morning before and grab a free skate slip. Friday nights 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. is glow skate and it is $10 admission flat with the skate rentals included.
They have a full cafe and bar with food for purchase. They have free Wifi and a workspace in the lobby for parents to go on the computer.
