You can tell the park is new. There were as many deer tracks as footprints along a dirt trail in Evans Creek Preserve, located on the northeast edge of Sammamish.
Opened on Oct. 22, the preserve nestling between Sammamish on the south and Redmond on the north is the Eastside's newest park.
Intended for dog walking and after-work or weekend strolls, the trails are flat and short enough for seniors and children. Included is an ADA-accessible loop, with a wide, graveled surface for wheelchairs, plus two longer trails.
