Seattle Parks and Recreation turned on its spray parks this weekend; ditto for several spray parks north, south and east of the city. Now, if we could just get some sun!
This is one of those quintessential “almost-summer” activities. There’s nothing better than hearing your kids squeal as they get wet at a spray park, then warming them up with a big towel if the sun goes away. Seattle spray parks are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., rain or shine (they only call it quits if there is thunder and lightning).
There are interactive fountains and water features at several locations throughout Seattle, including Ballard Commons, Lake Union Park and Miller Community Center. For some of our favorite water playgrounds outside of the city, including Crossroads Park in Bellevue, Forest Park in Everett and Les Gove Park in Auburn, check out Seattle’s Child’s spray park roundup.
Save the date: Most of Seattle Parks and Rec’s wading pools and lifeguarded beaches open on June 22, weather permitting.
