For seven weeks this fall, nine teenage students spent their Tuesday afternoons learning the art of photography with Herald photographers Annie and Mark Mulligan at the Everett Public Library. These young photographers were part of Promising Artists in Recovery, a program created in 2011 through the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett.
Every week students left class with 35 mm film cameras and set out to document everything from their daily lives, to friends and family, to themselves. Today their snapshots of life are on exhibit at the Schack Art Center in “Through My Lens: Life on Film.” The exhibit, which runs now through Feb. 3, features three photographs from each of the nine students in the class.
The Schack Art Center is located at 2921 Hoyt Ave. in Everett. To learn more about this exhibit, visit www.schack.org/exhibits or call 425-259-5050.
