Jet City Saber Guild is a not-for-profit group that performs mock lightsaber battles, spreads Star Wars joy and raises money for a variety of local charities. Adrienne Lombardo and Matthew Procaccini started the Guild last year after moving to Seattle from New York and bringing with them some lightsaber knowledge and know-how.
When not performing street theater or at special events like Comicon, Jet City Saber Guild does children’s birthday parties with a program aimed at 5-to-6-year-olds. Members of the Guild (typically three or four) arrive in full, Saber Guild-approved Star Wars costumes, present a short performance with lightsabers, then teach the kids how to do a Force push move — a skill necessary for combating evil droids and the Sith.
Finally, they bring out pint-sized lightsabers and the mock battle (non-contact for safety) begins. What does it cost to to blow the minds of the birthday child and their friends? Jet City Saber Guild asks that you simply make a donation to the charity of their choice.
