Tidbits for May: Farmers Markets Now in Season

Farmers Markets Now in Season

Looking for fresh vegetables and fruits? This is the month when regional farmers markets start branching out into their warm-weather glory. The Columbia City market is now open, and Broadway is another early arrival May 8 (with a new location, at Seattle Central Community College). The big Saturday market in downtown Edmonds starts out with an abridged version May 7, while the Thursday Bellevue market starts up May 12. The Madrona market joins in May 19, with the Georgetown market following May 20. (The year-rounders – the University District, Ballard, West Seattle and Fremont markets – are of course still going, and most others will open in June.)
