Halloween
Indoor Halloween Playground Kids ages 1 to 5 are invited to play games, and participate in hands-on activities. Costumes encouraged. 9:30 a.m. to noon. Spartan Recreation Center (Shoreline).
Halloween Make-Up Headquarters Kids ages 2 to 12 can complete their Halloween costumes by having their faces painted. Pre-registration recommended at 206-684-7026. 3 to 5 p.m. Magnuson Community Center (Sand Point).
Mighty Mites Costume Party Kids ages 5 and younger are invited to celebrate Halloween with games, treats, and prizes. 9:30 a.m. to noon. Miller Community Center (Capitol Hill).
Mall Trick-or-Treating Enjoy trick-or-tricking at Northgate Mall (Northgate) 4 to 7 p.m., Wallingford Center (Wallingford) 4 to 7 p.m., Magnolia Village (Magnolia) 4 to 7 p.m., and University Village (U District) 4 to 6 p.m.

Museum First Thursday Enjoy free admission all day to select museums (note: there may be admission for special exhibits). Many have children’s activities including story times at Northwest African American Museum(noon), Wing Luke Museum (11 a.m.), and Nordic Heritage Museum (10 a.m.). Museums participating include Burke Museum (University District), Museum of History and Industry (South Lake Union), Seattle Art Museum (Downtown Seattle), and Museum of Flight (Tukwila).
MathFest Kids ages 3 to 11 can build confidence and enthusiasm for math by playing carnival-style math games for prizes. Pre-register. 5 to 7:30 p.m. Rainier Community Center (Columbia City).
Friday, November 3
Small Frye: Storytelling + Art For children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, activities include counting, identifying size, shape, and color. Play with the storytellers from Seattle Children's Theatre as they weave together an imaginative narrative and a dramatic book reading. Then enjoy a hands-on art activity. Pre-register. Held on the first Friday of every month. 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Frye Art Museum (University District).
Saturday, November 4
Green Day Seattle Join hundreds of volunteers in 22 parks all over Seattle to plant trees. Tools, gloves, plants, coffee, snacks, and instruction provided. Meet at the hub site (Jefferson Community Center) at 9 a.m. or sign-up for a slot online at one of the other parks. Lunch served at the hub site at noon. 9 a.m. to noon.
Hmong New Year Celebration This Hmong harvest and New Year Celebration includes food, traditional dances, cultural shows, music, kids activities, a marketplace and more. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Seattle Center Armory (Lower Queen Anne).
Día de los Muertos Festival Neighborhood procession at 4 p.m., followed by a festival featuring music, dance, crafts, sugar skull decorating, food ($), and more. 4 to 7 p.m. Phinney Neighborhood Association (Phinney Ridge).
Sunday, November 5
Mini Game Day: Build A Better World Every table in the library meeting room will be covered in board games, dice games or even role-playing games. Enjoy the best indie games coming out of Seattle, with their designers teaching you how to play. Noon to 4 p.m. Skyway Library (Skyway).
