Explore the Beach with Naturalists Join volunteer naturalists during low tide on the beach to learn about Puget Sound's multitude of marine plants and animals. Adventure Playground Opening day of this one of a kind play area that allows kids to create their own play adventure. Children are provided toolboxes, various building supplies, safety items and the freedom to create build-it-yourself play zones with staff guidance. 1 to 4 p.m. today, Tuesdays through Thursdays and Sundays, through Aug. Westcrest Park – Forest Restoration Work Party Help revitalize the southwest portion of Westcrest Park by removing invasive species. Once the land has been cleared, planting projects will be later in the year. Learn about the different types of invasive species, why they are harmful, and how to get rid of them. Bicycle Sundays The four-mile stretch of Lake Washington Boulevard between Mount Baker Beach and Seward Park is closed to motorized traffic several Sundays through September. Enjoy biking, jogging or strolling along the water. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lake Washington Boulevard South (Mount Baker).
